There are basically two registered versions of Liberty BASIC:
If It is the full product without the ability to create standalong applications that can be distributed.
The GOLD edition is required if you want to compile standalone programs that can be distributed to people who do not own Liberty BASIC.
ShopTalk Systems also offers the GOLD edition in a special Value Edition that includes the development tools on CD, Alyce Watson's excellent Liberty BASIC 4 Companion ebook, Liberty BASIC Newsletter articles as well the special Liberty BASIC Insider by Carl Gundel.
