Review Changes

Hello Wikiworld !

  • This will, hopefully, be my personal space at basic.wikispaces
if i can figure out how to connect all the dots.
  • The process of making a link to a page that doesn't exist yet as a
way to create the new space seems totally backward to me.
  • Does anyone else think so, or am alone in this?
If i can get this space to actually appear on the basic member pages then i will be inclined to fill it out a bit more.
  • Alright.. we're up and running.
  • Can we talk about non-LB stuff on our own page?

First off a few words about the LB community.

It's excellent!


  • Alyce - almost 8000 posts and still going strong! Whenever i see one from the lady in the long
blue dress, i know i'm getting top notch info. oh and BTW, best avatar of them all. :-)

  • Janet - I think Alyce must have an alarm on her machine telling her when you log-on to the
conforums. What else could explain how often she beats you to the punch when someone needs an answer / help? (LOL)
  • Sorry about your Red Sox. They just didn't have the bats to get it done this year.
The L.A. Dodgers are my team so it feels a little like we've got your shortstop... haha. Yeah, i know he did a stretch in Chicago but i still think of him as a Red Sox. He's doing great by the way, hit his 20th homer tonight (Sep 26) and hit a grand slam two nights ago to win one in the ninth for us. He put the capper on an incredible comeback against the Padres the last time the two teams hooked up... Nomar still got game. :-)
  • As a Dodger fan, i naturally loathe the PinStrippers with a unholy passion, however, if Derek
Jeter doesn't win the MVP this season they might as well scrap the award. It shouldn't matter that he has strong teammates, he's earned it. Now that the Curse of the Bambino is broken maybe the Curse of A.Rod will take hold. He hasn't won jack in the pros despite having great years and teammates. The Big Unit has not been pitching well lately... that gives me a little hope. Who knows maybe George will be so upset he'll fire Torre... 20+ other teams would love to get him. Where's Billy Martin when we need him? :-)

  • Grahame - Thanks so much for all your help on the boards... and your entrap wizard is the
best LB solution to a puzzle i've seen. Congratz! I have been wondering about Libby lately and if Entrap would make a nice addition to its game bundle. What is involved in making it Libby-compatible?

  • Stephan Pendl - Congratulations on your promotion to Board Moderator on the conforums.
Your ability to help others on such a wide variety of programming projects is impressive!

Crunch Time


  • Trevor Hoffman just past Lee Smith for the all-time record in saves. He has been the most
durable closer i've ever seen, no doubt about it. Time to rest on your laurels Trevor! LOL

  • Sept 26: The Dodgers are in a nail-biter with the Padres and Phillies for the last two playoff spots with 5 games to go.

  • Sept 27: Dodgers 12 hit attack (Nomar went 3-for-4) too much for Rockies. Albert Pujols powers Cards past Padres (4-2) and Phils hang tough -- winning in 14-innings vs. the Expos... err, the Nationals. 4 games to go... Dodgers trail the Pads by one and are one ahead of the Phils.

  • Sept 28: Nomar takes the day off and his sub, James Loney, goes 4-for-5 with two home runs (one a GS!) and knocks in 9 runs, tying the all-time Dodger record of Gil Hodges. Loney just may be The Real Deal. He won the PCL batting crown this season with a .390 BA, and is a superior glove man at 1B. The blue crew banged out 17 hits and won 19-11 (oh those day games in the mile high city are fun aren't they?) As well as the boys are play'n, they didn't gain on S.D. who easily handled the Dbacks 12-4. The Phils and Nats were suppose to start at 7:05 east coast time but a 4+ hr rain delay kept the teams playing until after 2 am, and the worst part for Philly fans -- they lost 3-1. They're now 2 behind with 3 to play.
  • The Dodgers' final series, as usual, is vs. San Fran, while the Padres close it out in AZ.. If SD and LA tie for the division title, SD takes it since they have the head-to-head tie-breaker. We'd fly across county and they'd head to ... Houston??
  • Can you believe what's happening in the NL Central? A week ago it seemed locked up for St.Louis. The Astros won their 9th in a row today and are only a half-game back while the Cards have dropped 8 of the last 9. What a horrible time to go stone cold!
