This program attempts to mimic a Vista style gadget. These gadgets are typically 120 pixels wide and sit on a gadget bar at the right and of your screen. This software creates a 120 pixel wide transparent image that is positioned at top right of your window. It squashes the whole world into that space.
I firstly draw the blue background, then the world map positioned to show your target GMT location (friend) at centre of screen. So if you are targeting the UK you get Britain at centre screen, LA and you get the west coast at centre screen.
Then we determine the targets local time and draw a light mask to represent whether they are in the dark, in full sun or somewhere inbetween
Set up an array of targets and click through them using the left hand button image, exit using the right hand button image.
You can drag the gadget to any screen location.
A pressing improvement is to use an .ini file to rememeber that location but you can set it at the head of the program.
I'm squeezing the entire world, a light mask, and button controls into 120 pixels! ain't Liberty clever! Weather indication is next on the agenda.
You know exactly where and what time your friends are experiencing. I have a weather bug running for my niece's location, she is in the same time zone but it helps to feel in touch and thats the basis of this time zone gadget.
